Banana thing - the brown ball

A malay kuih made from banana. I can't remember the name of the thing. It's sometimes called cokodok pisang. the brown ball of flour and banana, fried till it's a dark brown.

Ingredients:

5 ripe bananas (I think you can only find those larger bananas in oz. So you have to get those that are very ripe.)

Half cup flour

2 teaspoon sugar

Half cup milk (this one i'm not too sure, usually go by feel. Will tell you later)

So now you have the simple ingredients, let's make kuih!

1. Mash the bananas up. You can leave some pieces... makes it nicer to bite into.

2. mix the flour in, slowly

3. Add the sugar

4. add in the milk, stir.  I usually pour the milk in till the texture is kinda like a gluey paste. Kinda like oatmeal.

5. Mix it well. Very well.

Now you have a bowl of horrible looking goo...

Heat up your (preferably non stick) pot. Pour your oil for deep frying.

Drop bits of the banana goo by using your teaspoon. The goo will turn brown. Then dark brown. Then it will go black.

Take it out when it's dark brown. Black is crunchy, but bitter! :P

NOTE: after the first round of frying, if the end-result is too soft, add in more flour.  IF the end-result is too hard, add in some milk.

You should be making enough for at least 5 - 10 people. :) or maybe if it's that yummy... only 1!
