- we just had an exciting general elections (in MY lifetime) in March.
- we had a 40% increase in petrol prices, thus escalating ALL other prices up by about 20%. Which causes our purchasing power to decrease by about 30%.
- electricity tariffs increased yesterday.
- we're having a dejavu of some sodomy charges on the same man by a different victim.
- the economy has been going downhill since the elections.
---------
the world is facing a phenomena of numerous floods and quakes:
in myanmar (flood)
in china (quake & flood)
in the phillipines (flood)
in greece (quake)
in japan (quake)
in andaman islands (quake)
in usa midwest (flood)
in hongkong (flood)
in mozambique (flood)
in africa (flood)
in india (flood)
in new zealand (flood)
it's quite staggering actually. the total amount of damage is horrendous and the number of people left homeless from all the above countries itself could amount to more than several million people.

on a personal level, it has also been a whirlwind of activities for me:
- i got a puppy, and potty training her is a major nightmare. continuous nagging from all directions isn't helping.
- the work in office is getting over my head.
- i failed 3 papers out of 5 that i had to take for my work. will be retaking them in August.
- kong kong was sent to the nursing home, despite our conscience eating away at our hearts and minds.
- i was elected into the church committee where i'm in charge of 'communications' and 'children' (which i did not want and finding it really hard to cope)

half a year has come and gone and it's really been too much excitement so far.
sometimes, i understand why people choose to be hermits or loners - away from all this madness and daily migraine-causing activities.
i just took some medication for my flu. i think i'm groggy now.
how la???
