Sometime long ago, there lived a bunch of hand-driven, camera-concealed, voiced-over creatures who appears in every children's mind.
Sesame Street.
They taught numbers, alphabets, good stuff. Songs that never leave the mind. (1 2 3 4.. 5.. 6 7 8 9.. 10.. 11 12! du du du du du du du...)
The show that tries to make monsters look cute and adorable and there's nothing to be afraid of. monsters all live on sesame street and they have feeble arms that hardly moves and legs that can hardly walk.
Imaginary friends that made the children all excited and wondered if the people in Sesame street are so dumb that they can't spot a one tonne shaggy elephant/mammoth. I think they ran out of ideas of how to keep Snuffleuphagus (I don't even know how to spell his name) out of sight from everyone, so they stopped hiding him and made him known to everyone and to prove that Big Bird is not hallucinaitng nor was he high on drugs, nor was he a schizophrenic.
Then there's Oscar, whose tin can seem to hold eternity. not unlike doraemon. Grouchy. Rude. Obnoxious. I like. Probably the only creature/puppet that was closest to the heart. Closest to reality. Not some goody-two-shoe puppet called Elmo.
Let me list down as many characters as possible:
Big Bird (the bird that sleeps with his head tucked under his wing. the dumb bird that never seems to learn)
Elmo (the red monster that talks with the high pitched voice and is sometimes so clever, yet so dumb)
Grover (the blue moster that has a panic disorder)
Telly monster (the monster that goes DUH.... )
Count (he counts till the heavens ROAR with irritation)
Bert (the nerd)
Ernie (the sniggering manipulative one)
Snuffy (the one tonne shaggy mammoth - I remember he lives in a cave with a super doorbell. i think his mama died. no more nes of his mama)
Kermit the Frog (the newscaster and singer)
Harry monster (can't remember what he does)
Cookie monster (eats not only cookies... but the plates and cups and everything else. but they all fall out of his mouth anyway)
Zoei (don't know her. not my time)
I love Sesame Street!
