A sense of togetherness

It helps to know that there still are people who don't look at your skin colour nor your religion nor your language.

some universal truths still remain. whether you're from a tribal village or from the big city, there is always a common point.

having two eyes, one nose, a digestive system - these help.

but to look over these physical appearances, we have what we feel inside. our emotions never change. being sad is SAD. being happy is HAPPY. being angry is ANGRY.

no two persons say they are HAPPY yet feel SAD. happiness brings a smile to the face. sadness brings tears. these are things that has been installed in our program even before time.

http://yasminthestoryteller.blogspot.com/ <-- i stumbled on her site. i love her honesty.

honesty doesn't always pay. but sincerity does.

we habour so much prejudice against another race such that, as would you puke if you ate green vege, your adrenaline pumps at the thought of them.

----------

i went from school to school. i took malay when i should have been taking chinese. i'm glad i did. my school day life could have made another film for Yas. :-)

7 of us from different races. my story could have raised eyebrows. (so thick skinned)

but in the past ten years, i've eaten with all races, slept (not in the lewd sense) and lived with other races, talk like an authentic malay (many people can do that nowadays), think like a cina-pek, and eat anything with my fingers and not drop a single (maybe a handful) of rice on the table.

work opened my eyes too. i'm glad i worked in kl for a while. if i had come straight to s'pore to work, i might never have known all that i have. there was a purpose for me to be there.

kudos to a film to close to our hearts, as long as you're from a multi-racial country, you will understand.
